he IIS University has a full-fledged Training Placement & Counseling Cell which looks in to the overall planning and execution of career guidance, career counselling, and employment opportunities for the students of The IIS University. The cell ensures that representatives from various multi-national companies and other recognized educational institutions visit the University, not only to apprise the students of the various courses and jobs available but also to select and train them for requisite job skills. The cell organizes popular talks by experts on career prospects in different fields. It also liaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses etc. for organizing campus interviews and selecting the students from all disciplines. The cell undertakes a host of activities which include arranging campus interviews, summer internships, organizing workshops and programmes for developing and enhancing employability skills like resume writing, facing interviews, participating in group discussion, communication skill etc. undertaking career guidance and counselling sessions on one to one basis and creating and arranging value added industrial/Practical training for the students. Thus making the placement cell more like a ‘Career Services’ unit rather than just for final placements. These activities, a regular feature of the cell and organized throughout the year, are undertaken on the basis of an annual activity schedule designed at the beginning of the academic session.
